Terms of Service

Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using StoKHaus, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ProgSoft ("we", "us", "our").

The service

StoKHaus is a personal inventory and household management application. We provide tools to help you track, organise, and manage your belongings. The service is provided "as is" and we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time with reasonable notice.

Accounts

You must create an account to use StoKHaus beyond the basic free tier. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Keeping your email address accurate and up to date.

You may not share your account with others or create accounts for the purpose of abuse or circumventing tier limits.

Recovery Phrase and data security

StoKHaus uses a zero-knowledge encryption model. Your Recovery Phrase is used to derive the encryption key for your data. We strongly recommend you:

• Store your Recovery Phrase securely and separately from your device.
• Enable regular backups.

We cannot recover your data if you lose your Recovery Phrase. This is by design. Data loss resulting from a lost or forgotten Recovery Phrase is your responsibility. We have no backdoor and cannot assist with recovery in this situation.

Subscriptions and billing

StoKHaus offers free (Registered) and paid subscription tiers (Premium, Ultimate). Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS, coming soon).

• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time via your Google Play or App Store subscription settings. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
• Prices are displayed in your local currency as determined by Google Play or the App Store.
• Refunds are subject to Google Play's or Apple's refund policies, not ours.
• When your subscription lapses or is cancelled, your account reverts to the Registered tier. Your data is not deleted — it remains accessible but you may be unable to add new items until your account fits within the free tier limits.

Loyalty discount

Users who maintain a continuous paid subscription for 13 or more consecutive months may become eligible for a loyalty discount. Eligibility and discount details will be communicated in-app. The discount does not apply retroactively and is subject to change.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use StoKHaus for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to circumvent tier limits, subscription checks, or security measures.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app.
• Use the service to store or distribute illegal content.
• Interfere with the service or other users' access to it.

Your data

You own your data. We do not claim any rights to the content you store in StoKHaus. You can export or delete your data at any time via Settings → Data & Privacy.

By using the service, you grant us a limited licence to store and process your data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Availability and disclaimers

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for data loss caused by:

• Your failure to maintain a backup.
• Loss of your Recovery Phrase.
• Device loss, damage, or theft.
• Service outages beyond our reasonable control.

StoKHaus is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ProgSoft's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £10, whichever is greater.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the version number and date at the top of this page and notify you within the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
